Summary

The Cask of Amontillado

Montresor, the narrator, opens the story by stating that he had been insulated bu his close aquantaice, Fortuanto. Now he seeks revenge. Montresor uses Fortunato's fondness for wine to turn agianst him. He plans very strategically planned thier meeting by offering wine to soothe his cough. The teo began to walk down the vaults, that are filled of Montresor's passed family members. Soon after, Montresor leads Fortunato into a crypt, explaining that the Amontillado was being stored deep within the crypt. Since the wine, Fortunato, very intoxicated, goes to look for the drink while Montresor secretly chains him to a stone. After taunting Fortunato to leave, he bagan filling in the entrence to the crypt, trapping Fortunato inside. Quickly, Fortunao yells out his last plea "For the love of God, Montresor" as he fills in the last stone, only accompanied by the quite jingling of Fortunato's bells.
